Objective To explore the application of standardized health education in gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods 120 pregnant women with gestational diabetes who were treated in this hospital were randomly divided into control group and observation group. The control group was given routine health education, while the observation group was given standardized health education. The therapeutic effect, pregnancy outcome, perinatal outcome, self-management and treatment compliance of the two groups before and after health education were compared. Results The fasting blood glucose, postprandial blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin were both controlled effectively in the observation group. The effective rate was 93.3% in the observation group, which was higher than that in the control group (75.0%), the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Weekly weight gain and BMI increase in the observation group were lower than those in the control group. Pregnancy outcome and perinatal outcome were significantly improved in the observation group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P <0.05). Compared with the control group, the observation group improved significantly in all aspects of self-management, which was significantly better than the control group (71.7%, significantly higher than 45.0% of the control group). The differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion The standardization of health education in the whole model can help patients with gestational diabetes understand diabetes knowledge, improve blood glucose levels and improve the level of self-management of pregnant women, clinically worth promoting.
