Regular bone testing is crucial for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. This article studies the effect of osteoporosis on the propagation of ultrasound guided waves in human long bones. The multi-scale wavelet transform method is adopted to process the received guided-wave signals, and the change of the total signal energy of the high-order wavelet detail components under different propagation distances is analyzed to determine whether there is osteoporosis. Ultrasound measurements were performed on the tibia of the 13 volunteers to obtain the guided wave signal. The results of multiscale wavelet transform analysis showed that among the 13 volunteers, the frequency of ultrasonic guided wave of seven volunteers changed significantly with the propagation distance, indicating that the seven volunteers Who have osteoporosis. The accuracy of this diagnosis is 92.3% compared with the result of X-ray diagnosis, which shows that the proposed wavelet multiscale transformation method has good potential for ultrasonic diagnosis of long bones.
