问:基础教学历来是各大美院教学的重点,而美院规划教材“双重基础”的出版将学院基础教育纳入了规范正轨的范畴.作为本书的的编撰者和雕塑系主任,请您谈谈该系列教材的酝酿和出版过程好吗?答:1978年我进入鲁美雕塑系学习.一直觉得无论鲁美也好,其他美院也好,就没有雕塑方面的教材.有点像师傅带徒弟的意思.一个老师上课讲一套他的理论,每个老师都讲不同的理论,最后由学生把各个老师讲课的思维串联在一起.还有一个特点,就是有的老师这个部分讲得精彩,有的老师那个部分讲得透彻,所以当我任系副主任的时候,开始琢磨着把教师授课的精彩部分汇总在一起,做一本规范化的教材.但因种种原因,没能实现.前年,我看到教我的老师年岁越来越大了,我下几届的学生使用的还是我老师教我时使用的和我在教学中逐步总结出来的教材,我的迫切感更重了.
