本文讨论了对比修辞学的概念和历史发展，对比修辞学与翻译学的关系。对比修辞学的两个层面--各语言拥有的修辞手段，修辞资源的对比和各语言拥有的语体和言语体式“言语体裁”的对比，以及对比修辞学的研究顺序，并结合汉俄，汉英等实例阐释了对比修辞学的功用。
