西方学者曾经认为:西亚两河流域苏美尔人在5000年前发明的圆柱形印章是世界上最早的戳印(图一)。主要用于泥版文书或纸莎草纸卷文书的封印。但是现在又有学者认为:早在公元前5000年就已出现了圆柱式及戳记式的古代印记,到古罗马时期,才为指环印记所代替(简明不列颠百科全书第9卷第145页。中国大百科全书出版社,1986)。可是,他们却未提出实证材料证实此事。为此,两方学者专门设立了一门“印记学”来研究。图一5000年前亚述王国圆筒形印章
Western scholars once thought that: Cylindrical stamps invented by the Sumerians of the West Asia two rivers in 5000 years ago were the earliest stamps in the world (Figure 1). Mainly used in mud paper or papyrus paper seal. Now, however, some scholars think that: As early as 5000 BC, cylindrical and poetic ancient seals had appeared, and they were replaced by ring marks in ancient Rome (Concise Britannica Vol 9, p 145.
