This article describes a photoelectric system that uses the outer contour of a car to measure the orientation of the car on the test line. Six CCD devices are used to determine the outline of the vehicle. The data are collected and processed by the IBM PC / XT microcomputer. The contour of the vehicle is determined by the inherent resolution of the CCD. Finally, the center line of the actual contour of the vehicle is calculated relative to the ideal center line Deflection angle.
