法国大革命后原本属于世袭贵族的艺术收藏,流散进入英国伦敦艺术市场,并以销售为目的向公众展示。这种现象在整个欧洲近代贵族收藏体系的变迁过程中极富代表性,展览的受众层面也前所未有地拓宽,不再局限于少数贵族阶层的私下交流与欣赏,而是扩大到民众的层面,平等地欣赏、观摩、学习原本受到禁锢与局限的艺术珍品。随着旧收藏格局的打破而引发了新一轮的收藏变局,在这种新旧交替的间隙中,民众体会到了民主革命带来的艺术资源共享与观看的自由。
After the French Revolution, originally belonging to hereditary aristocracy’s art collection, dispersed into the London art market in the United Kingdom, and sales for the purpose of displaying to the public. This phenomenon is extremely representative in the vicissitudes of the modern aristocratic collection system throughout Europe. The audience level of the exhibition has also been broadened as never before. It is no longer confined to the private exchange and appreciation of a few aristocrats but extends to the public level.
