声乐教学是一门技术性与实践性很强的学科。而声乐作品的艺术表现与处理又是声乐艺术的灵魂和生命,它的实现是靠演唱者对作品正确的理解、准确的表现(二度创作),使其音响化和形象化,其效果应使听众在享受声乐艺术的同时也受到艺术美的感染。另外,歌唱是一种声音艺术,它的旋律不能只停留在乐谱上。我们在听多数学生的演唱时,总感到没有美感,其关键原因就是学生对作品的理解不够,没有把作品的内涵表现出来。因此,在声乐教学中注意培养学生表现与处理作品的能力,是声乐教学中的重要环节。
