2011年7月7日,有着168年历史的英国最畅销小报《世界新闻报》因窃听丑闻被迫关停。这场愈演愈烈的窃听风暴在新闻界引起了轩然大波,也引发了公众对于媒体公信力的质疑。曾几何时,“新闻”两个字代表着权威和真相;“新闻工作者”代表着客观与公正。而如今,《世界新闻报》的寿终正寝再度揭开了新闻界那些不太光彩的伤疤。仅在21世纪初,新闻界就有多家权威媒体成为新闻丑闻的主角。
On July 7, 2011, the world’s best-selling tabloid News of the World, a 168-year-old British newspaper, was shut down for wiretapping scandal. This intensified eavesdropping storm caused an uproar in the press and also raised questions about the public credibility of the media. Once upon a time, the word “news” stands for authority and truth; “journalist” stands for objectivity and fairness. Now that the News of the World ends, the unpleasant scars of the press have been opened again. In the early 21st century, a number of authoritative media outlets in the press became the protagonists of the news scandal.
