Introduction With the development of advanced ceramics for high-temperature materials, Japanese steel pipe companies and Asahi Glass Co. jointly developed a blast furnace hot-air flow control valve. The first control valve was installed on the No. 2 blast furnace at the Japanese steel pipe company Keihin Plant in March 1984 as the first practical use.
