We have experienced the encouragement and inspiration of the Spring of Science, and we have also suffered numerous troubles of ignorance. Once glittering the splendor of the scientific spirit has also painfully confronted the embarrassment of science. Once encouraged or helpless to tell us that the real advancement of the historical process is science, Mr. Sai. When we review the major scientific breakthroughs in the past 50 years and recall our intellectual heroes, we cherish the memory of the spiritual forces that permeated them - their love of the motherland, the truth of science and the scientific spirit that goes beyond simple learning itself. The reality that can not but face is the decline of the scientific spirit that we must be wary of the danger of collective loss of scientific enthusiasm. In a context of appraising everything economically, in the context of a vindictive or decorative appeasement of science, our blind spots of understanding lie not only in the declining social status of science practitioners, but also in the fact that we may have forgotten what should be given to science itself Enthusiasm. Science is the eternal theme of mankind, and enthusiasm for science is the purest of humanity. The loss of the scientific spirit does not mean just ignorance and reaction to a nation. The bleakness of scientific rationality and the prevalence of utilitarianism are dusty and year-on-year relations. We need a healthy life, for which we need scientific rationality. The value of science can not be measured by a utilitarian economic vision. It is more a mere impulse, a pure fantasy, or a spirit. Here, what we feel more is the passion for science. Here, we select the intellectual heroes that have played a huge role in promoting the development of our country and society in the 50-year history of China. Not only recognition of their accomplishments, but more of their personal highs. When the light of science illuminates us, it is necessary for us to honor our intellectual heroes. Whether still alive, or away from us.
