OBJECTIVE: To compare the effects of two presentation modes (sound presentation and text presentation) on the polygraph test on the autonomic physiological responses of individuals in the hidden information test. Methods: Thirty healthy college students were taken as subjects to simulate the crime and to complete the hidden information test. The questions during the test were asked by the men’s voice recorded in advance or by the screen, and the 16-channel physiological recorder was used to record the subjects Test skin electrical changes and heart rate changes. Results: The skin electrical changes and heart rate changes of 1 key item were significantly greater than those of unrelated items. The changes of heart rate under 2-sound presentation were significantly greater than those of text, but there was no significant difference between the two items. CONCLUSIONS: Compared with the textual presentation, the social stimulus of sound makes subjects have a greater physiological response to the hidden information test.
