This year marks the 60th anniversary of the victory of the anti-fascist war in the world and the war of resistance against Japan. Both the western countries and the eastern countries, both the victorious and defeated victories of that year, commemorate this historic moment in their own way. The fascist tyranny during the Second World War left people with extremely painful memories. To the Chinese people, this memory is still tragic. Trampled by the Japanese invaders’ iron heels, the enemy-occupied areas made themselves into hell. Although justice eventually defeated the evil and the war of resistance against Japan ended with the great victory of the Chinese nation, the trauma left in people’s minds is far from healing. Prescriptions for the cure of traumas should by no means forget the past, and neither the perpetrator nor the victim of that year should evade that period of history. Only by bravely facing the past can we truly get out of the shadow of that year and create a peaceful and beautiful future. It is also the historical mission of history to be true. In view of this, we have invited three well-known scholars to give their views on the study of the history of the Anti-Japanese War and to commemorate the great victory 60 years ago.
