近二十年来对多年生木本果树、林木植物的扦插繁殖研究进展很快,尤以近年来利用植物的幼嫩性、生长素效应和控制环境因子的综合应用,对一些生根困难的硬材树种,取得了较好的效果。这方面的研究也受到了国际上的重视,1973年在新西兰召开的无性繁殖会议,把扦插育苗作为研究的中心议题。在欧美国家,随着研究的逐渐深入,不仅扩大了用扦插法快速繁殖的一些果树种类,而且对扦插繁殖机理的研究也日趋深入。根据导,目前可以用扦插法生根成活的果树约有20余种(,1980),依种源不同其生根难易有别。
