自1952年以来,我国高考科目的设置经过多次变化:1952年(高中所学全部科目)——1954年(高考科目分文、理二类)——1955年(分成文、理、农医三类)——1978年(恢复全国统考,同时恢复文理二类的科目设置)——1987年(上海试行“3+1”方案)——1991年(“3+2”模式形成)——1999年2月教育部颁布《关于进一步深化普通高等学校招生制度改革的意见》,并决定在广东省试行“3+X”高考模式。2007年,即普通高中新课程实验后的第三年,国家教育部颁布了《2007年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试大纲(课程标准实验版)》,开始在宁夏、山东、广东、海南四个课改试验区进行高考改革实验,由此拉开了新一轮高考改革的序幕,从而使2007年的普通高等学校招生全国统一考试又一次成为教育界乃至全社会普遍关注的热门话题。
