本文所阐述的建构主义教学论的要点是:学生必须在言语中掌握语言现象,不断自觉地建构自己个体的语言体系;在言语中提高理解话语、建构话语的能力,并利用已掌握的语言材料,依赖语境,在言语交际中不断建构新的话语;学生还应该在提高语言能力和言语能力的基础上,根据交际需要,在正确使用语言的前提下,使言语有所创新,参与建构宏观语言体系。在外语教学中,师生均应自觉为实现这三个要点而处理好语言和言语、语言和文化、结构和建构、宏观和微观诸种关系,把外语教学纳入建构语言学理论和建构教学论的轨道,从而提高教学质量。
