能量是铸造生产中最重要的因素之一。铸造生产需要总能量中的约80%,通常用于金属熔化、过热及保温。有色合金的熔化、保温用的能源组成,受能源供应、提高生产效率、防止公害和改善作业环境等因素的影响。对此国外极度重视。国内亦不例外。为了节能除积极进行热效率高的新型熔化和保温炉的研究外,还应对现有设备进行改造。因而可以说进入了有色合金熔化和保温炉的变革时代。
