According to statistics from the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO), the death rate of cardiovascular disease in most countries in Canada and the developed industrial world is significantly reduced. The World Health Statistics Yearbook published by the WHO of Geneva describes a comprehensive improvement in cardiovascular mortality from the early 1970s to the early 1980s.
