In the process of cultivating overall quality of college students, music education is an important content of college students’ comprehensive quality cultivation. Music appreciation ability is an important part of music education and one of the important ways to implement comprehensive quality education. Through the understanding and comprehension of the concept of comprehensive quality education, this paper explores the significance and function of music education in the cultivation of university quality competence and seeks ways and means of cultivating music appreciation ability. The development of a knowledge-based economy and society calls for knowledge innovation and technological innovation. The country’s prosperity depends more on highly qualified personnel. Implementing comprehensive quality education is bound to become the direction of education in our country.
