西安石油学院自一九八○年五月恢复重建以来,由于石油部,陕西省委和西安市领导的关心和支持,院、系领导团结一致,全院同志有加快发展,办出水平,办出特色的强烈愿望,充分发挥了学院优势,列八五年底已取得了显著的成绩:基本上完成了第一期基建任务,建成校舍六万平方米;累计征地325亩;教职工人数增至702人,其中教师292人;已建立了五个系十二个专业,在校学生1293人;已有各层次毕业生435人先后走上工作岗位;在领导体制和教学改革中,实行岗位责任制,目标管理和与奖金相联系的干部计量考核办法,试行了学分制,外语分级教学和筛选升降制等,已初见效果;整党工
