由于IUI其操作简单、价格低廉，常常是不孕症患者（至少有一条输卵管通常的患者）首选的治疗手段之一。IUI良好妊娠率的获得不仅取决于女性年龄，局部宫腔结构，促排卵药物的使用以及人工受精的时机，而且还与精液质量、精子密度有着密切的关系。
