Objective: To investigate the changes of P300 latency in patients with chronic alcoholic encephalopathy (CAE) and to explore the clinical value of the P300 event-related potential test in this disease. Methods: The clinical data of 25 patients with CAE admitted from October 2010 to February 2013 in our hospital were collected. All patients were examined for P300 event-related potentials at the initial admission stage, and the data of case latency were statistically analyzed analysis. Results: The latency of P300 in 25 CAE patients was significantly longer than that of normal laboratory data (P <0.05). Conclusion: The cognitive impairment of central nervous system in CAE patients is affirmative. P300 test can identify the extent of cognitive impairment in CAE patients and provide a scientific basis for the clinical diagnosis and prognosis evaluation.
