现代中长跑的竞争主要是专项速度的竞争,也就是专项高速跑的能力即速度耐力的竞争。现代中长跑训练已由过去突出训练量而转向突出训练强度,这是因为中长跑比赛主要是比强度,而不是比量。所以,当今中长跑教学与训练中对负荷强度的要求越来越高。目前,在当今中长跑教学与业余训练中,提高训练强度,发展中长跑运动员的专项耐力而常采用的训练方法有:
