This article reports on fertilizer trials conducted at the Ruilu Coffee Research Institute in Kenya, ie, effects of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers on the yield and quality of small-grain coffee and their residual effects on dry beans. Extensive use of nitrogen and phosphate can increase coffee production. Nitrogen fertilizers have a positive effect on coffee production, while potash has a negative effect. The three-factor interaction between nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium was significant. There was no significant impact of processing on the percentage of first-grade coffee beans and the quality of coffee consumed. The residual effect of phosphate fertilizer significantly affects the yield of kidney bean.
