广东潮汕地区,昔有九县一岛,古称潮州府(路、郡),简称潮州。1860年汕头开埠以后,特别是进入民国时期以来,汕头埠已逐渐发展成为潮州府地的政治、经济、文化中心。因而,自上世纪30年代以来,海内外潮人已经习惯将这一地区的称谓从“潮州”叫成“潮汕”。据有关专家论证,潮汕地区的民间弦诗乐是我国传统音乐中艺术成就较高的一个地方乐种,同时也是潮汕传统文化中最具代表性和最具历史文化价值的一个艺术品种。该乐种的
