最近在读叶公超的《论新诗》时,突然又一次意识到这样一个问题,中国现代诗歌中是不是仍然存在这个难解之谜,那就是:古典诗歌和现代诗歌之间究竟是何种关系?从胡适的《尝试集》开始,到郑敏《世纪末的沉思》结束,这个问题似乎早有定论,但所有的定论都经不起推敲。叶氏主要的诗歌批评资源之一仍然是中国古典诗学,他认为新诗之所以受到古典诗歌影响,是由于古典诗歌自身的魅力,但却不能说这是囿于传统的惰性。(这看上去好像是一个非常简单明朗的看法,但却非常重要。)叶氏就此问题作了
When I read Ye Gongchao’s “On New Poetry” recently, I suddenly realized this question again. Is this mystery still existing in modern Chinese poetry: what is the relationship between classical poetry and modern poetry? From Hu Shi’s “Attempt Set” began, and ended with Zheng Min’s “Meditations Towards the End of the Century.” This issue seems to have been settled for a long time, but all the conclusions can not be considered scientifically.
