When China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001, the rules of global economic and trade have already existed. The conflicts and compromises we face are not about re-establishing the rules, but about adjusting the existing rules. At the same time, more importantly, China is now in a period of rapid increase in economic strength and wealth accumulation.
