PBL(problem-based learning)基于问题式学习强调以学生的自主学习为主,将学习与更大的任务或问题挂钩,使学习者投入于问题中,设计真实性任务。PBL是一种开放性教学,教师在课堂上减少了灌输式授课比例,更多地采用启发性的问题导入和灵活多变的课堂活动,分组讨论等形式,鼓励学生多思考、多研究、多实践,提高了学生的思辨能力、调研能力、自主学习能力和实际运用能力。PBL在大学英语教学中的有效性和科学性还要经过大量的教学实践的实验,教师要通过教学实践总结经验不断完善,进而探索出既符合教学规律又适合大学英语课程特点的教学模式,并在教学中逐步普遍化、系统化和规范化,从而更好地实现大学英语的教学效果。
