本品种原名为师棉5号,由我系杂交选育而成。亲本组合是黑山棉×邢台6871,1972年开始,1982年选出优良单株,1986～1987年参加冀东棉区区试,1987年参加冀东棉区生产试验,连续两年产量都居首位,棉纤维品质也居第一位。1988年1月经河北省农作物品种审定委员会审定通过。1986年区试亩产霜前皮棉69.55公斤,比对照冀棉6号增产9.9%。1987年区试平均亩产皮棉71.7公斤,亩产霜前皮棉57.2公
