Linjin Town, Linfen County, Shanxi Province, which is located on the high slope of the Loess Plateau, is a place where water is scarce and where no fish is ever raised. However, there are more than 20 companies with more than 1,000 people doing business around fishing. The fish and medicines they use to control fish diseases and clean the water quality of fish ponds are sold throughout the country, with an annual sales income of up to 200 million yuan. Not only that, while the fish and fishery industry is still at the height of Lin Jin, its related color printing, packaging, and transportation industries have sprung up like mushrooms. No wonder people call it “no fishing.”
