我國的藝術大師、傑出的美術教育家徐悲鴻先生誕生九十週年,即一九八五年,也是他西行赴印講學四十五週年之際,在新德里國家美術館和加爾各答阿樹多士美術館,分别舉辦了徐悲鴻畫展。北京徐悲鴻紀念館館長廖靜文也應邀於是年十一月二十三日抵達新德里,參加畫展開幕式,並進行兩週的友好訪問。畫展受到印度政府、各界知名人士及廣大觀衆的熱烈歡迎和高度讚賞。印度總理拉吉夫·甘地和夫人索尼亞?虆⒂^了徐悲鴻畫展,並給予高度評價。在廖靜文館長回國後還來信致意。
Mr. Xu Beihong, an art master and outstanding art educator in China, celebrated the 90th anniversary of his birth. In 1985, he also visited the National Gallery of Art in New Delhi and the Aberdeen Museum of Art in Calcutta Xu Beihong held a painting exhibition. Liao Jingwen, curator of Xu Beihong Memorial in Beijing, was also invited to arrive in New Delhi on November 23 that year for the opening ceremony of the exhibition and for a two-week friendly visit. The exhibition was warmly welcomed and highly appreciated by the Indian government, celebrities from all walks of life and the general audience. Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and his wife, Sonya, went to Xu Beihong’s exhibition and spoke highly of it. After Liao Jingwen’s director returned home, he also sent a letter of congratulation.
