1.Patient’s conditionsThe patient,69-year-old male,was with indwelling urethral catheter for 7 days after operation of prostatic carcinoma.He had reported fever,pyuria and aching flank and back from the day before.Urine culture showed significant bacteriuria.[bacterial counts of more than 105 colony-forming units per milliliter(105 CFU/ml)]Diagnosis:catheter-related urinary tract infection.;He improved on parenteral cefoperazone and oral furadantin treatment.
