在花鸟画的发展中,折枝花鸟是传统花鸟画中应用最为广泛的画面程式,和始于五代的全景花鸟是最主要的两种图式,但同样也存在着图式的发展和探索。如发展到了近现代的山野花鸟画,在潘天寿等人的作品中又焕发出新的生机,另外还有众多异彩纷呈的当代转换实验,这些都为当代花鸟画的发展提供了可贵的贡献。
