Whenever I imagine the future of the Global Network, I remember Star Trek’s slogan, “Brave the world.” The telecommunications network is like the ground-based aerospace industry, full of glistening and pulsing energy roaring past. With satellites and radios already leading to all planets, the global network will connect 5 billion people more closely. The current unregulated telecommunications will bind people with their hands and feet, lead to conflicting, competing and diverse new products and daunting knowledge. Whether the trail can become a car’s lessons? Can not be conclusive. However, it can be argued that the global network narrows the gap between people. A Harmful Opinion of Computers is that unrestricted internet-based communications, video playback, and gratification of all kinds of intrigues will fill the world with computer aphs as if the sequel to George Orwell’s 1984 Story is being staged . People are now partly living in virtual reality, such as motorcycles that can carry virtual laser weapons for life. Soon we may pass in each one
