Global historians attempted to jump out of Eurocentrism: Western Europe and many parts of Asia were developing evenly and simultaneously. It was not until the end of the eighteenth century that the gap between the two was rapidly widened with the advent of the industrial revolution and the consequent rapid economic growth. Ouyang Tai Tonio Andrade graduated from Yale University and studied under American historian Shi Jingqian and European historian Parker. His research interests include comparative studies of Chinese history, global history and colonialism. He is now Associate Professor of History at Emory University. The 78-year-old Shi Jing-qian’s ability to tell stories is well known, and Ouyang Tai’s narrative ability does not let him - the “1661, decisive Zhelan cover” research
