Despite all the hype, the obvious eyewitnesses found that the troops that were not deployed by the Chiang Kai-shek army were only “laid-off.” This led to the dissatisfaction of some warlords, and the contradiction was finally solved by force. “The Jiang-Gui War” is one example.
