Recently, the National Palace Museum held “50 Years of Cultural Relics Exhibition of Tibet”. In front of the “4 o’clock Flower Picture” by Xu Wei, a great painter of the Ming Dynasty, I meditated for a long time and could not bear to leave. I am not just enjoying the bold and bold brushwork of the painter, nor are I merely thinking of the profound poem in the picture, but recalling the donation of this masterpiece. His voice and smile, hovering in my mind. He is the famous ancient painting and calligraphist Liu Kiu An. His death was not only a major loss to the National Palace Museum, but also a tremendous loss to the cultural relics industry, especially to the painting and calligraphy appraisal community.
