2000年10月,在秋风送爽的金色季节里,台湾著名作家余光中携夫人踏上了金陵故土。他应邀回到老家南京,参加余光中作品研讨会,与南京的众多专家学者见面和交流。风光秀丽的中山陵、玄武湖、栖霞山以及环绕古城的老城墙,留下了诗人相隔五十余载后印下的足迹。飘泊着的长达半个世纪的乡愁离绪,终于停靠在故土的港湾。南京相见,是笔者与余光中先生的重逢。笔者曾在台湾高雄采访过他。高雄位于台湾海峡东岸南口,是一个天然良港。当时我们驱车驶过海岸,近观轮船归港,远望大海苍茫,不由想起余光中笔下的诗句:“小时候,乡愁是一枚小小的邮票,我在这头,母亲在那头……而现在,乡愁是一湾浅浅的海峡,我在这头,大陆在那头……”曾任台湾中山大学文学院院长的余光中虽然卸任了,仍然被校方聘为名誉院长和终身教授。在文学院四楼的一间办公室里,余光中先生已等候多时。他神清气爽,笑容满面,初次见面就十分亲切。他很高兴在高雄接待南京记者,觉得办公室太小,人多了转不开身,让我们到接待室去谈,可我们觉得他的办公室堆满书籍,浓浓书香更有一番情 In October 2000, in the golden seasons where the autumn wind shone, Taiwan’s famous writer Yu Kwang-chung took his wife and set foot on the hometown of Jinling. In an office on the fourth floor of the Faculty of Arts, Mr. Yu Kwang-chung has waited for a long time. He was refreshing, smiling, very friendly for the first time. He was very glad to receive a reporter from Nanjing in Kaohsiung. He thought that the office was too small, the people were too busy to turn around.
