A new British study found that twin pregnancies have a higher risk of fetal death than previously estimated. Researchers suggest arranging for delivery of a baby by caesarean section at 32 weeks of gestation eliminates the danger. Nicholas Fisker, Ph.D., of Imperial College London and colleagues observed a surprisingly late fetal death in apparently plain twins.
