我国现行的中学语文教材,文学作品内容的占相当大的比重,文学作品的表现媒介是语言,其内容是表现感受,这些,便构成了语文教材的语言工具性,知识性,思想性,情感性。而在我们以往的教学中,对语文教材中的前三者都给予重视,而忽视了情感教育,就是我们语文教学参考书,对一篇文章的主题思想,段落层次,写作特点,字、词、句、篇的分析总是详尽周到的,而对文章的情感分析却着力不足。
