[Objective]To study the extraction and purification methods for Oligomeric Proantho Cyanidins (OPC) from pine bark and its hypolipidemic effects. [Method]70% ethanol and macroporous resin were used for the extraction and purification of OPC from pine bark, respectively. Animal model was established by taking mice as the research objects,in order to further study the hypolipidemic effects of OPC extracts. [Result]After purified by NKA macroporous resin, purity of OPC reached as high as 40%. In the pine bark,OPC had the functions of reducing the contents of TG,TC and LDL-C in serum of mice. [Conclusion]OPC extracts from pine bark had certain hypolipidemic effects, which provided scientific basis for its further development and utilization in medicine, heath care and other aspects.
