近来在工业加热设备上作为单管振荡器的磁聚束三极管其输出功率已达30~50千瓦。100千瓦的管子也在研制中。磁聚束管结构牢固,克服了普通三极管栅丝细和阴极灯丝脆等缺点。由于它的工作温度低不会导致栅放,因此可采用氧化物阴极,大大地节约了热子功率。又由于采用了磁场聚束,截获的栅流小,降低了激励功率,这样就可采用功率可控的电子器件阻止栅压的摆动。只要在功率控制器件输入端变化几伏电压,磁聚束管的输出功率就会产生5%~100%的变化。
