In the process of political democratization and civil society construction in China, the political participation of citizens is an important issue. Theoretical studies show that party membership is a manifestation of political interest, while having a higher sense of political efficiency. Having a party member status will promote political participation. However, empirical studies on the identity of party members in China are still rare. Based on the theory of political mobilization, this paper uses the survey data of CGSS2010 to study the role of CCP membership in Chinese citizens’ political participation. The study found that under the simple logistic regression model, there is no significant relationship between the identity of CPC members and the behavior of political participation. In the model of intervention effects, there is a significant negative correlation between the identity of CPC members and the behavior of political participation. In the propensity matching model There is a significant positive correlation between the identity of CPC members and the behavior of political participation.
