Once, I listened to a review class of a physics teacher at Shanhe Middle School. After the students had mastered Archimedes’s law and conditions of floating, he asked the question: A round wooden stake, when it was completely immersed in the pool, When the upward buoyancy is F, if half of this stake is cast into the bottom of the pool, is the stake buoyant upwards? If so, what is the student’s active thinking activity in the classroom? Temporary silence. Suddenly, a student raised his hand to answer: “Yes, it is subject to upward buoyancy, the size of buoyancy is equal to 1/2F.”
