許多學者們,特別是蘇聯學者們對於大腦皮層興奮和抑制的基本規律,在免疫過程中的重要性作了很多的研究。例如В.П.Тулъчинская氏以活布魯氏桿菌菌苗在豚鼠不同的神經狀態下來進行試驗,可以看到,注射咖啡因時,豚鼠的吞噬作用、凝集及沉澱抗體的產生,皆較對照組出現早,但降低也快;而在注射溴化鈉的豚鼠中,則得到相反的結果。它用小白鼠作試驗時也能得到同樣結果。此外Р.П.Каменечкая及Б.Л.Палант等氏以及我國鄭振羣曾做了類似的研究,也得到了相似的結果。相反地,也有一些學者們不能得到相同的結果。例如Б.Т.Аветикян和М.О.Мелкумян氏
