In the last week of 2008, there were only 3 trading days and the market was trading lightly. Shanghai and Shenzhen 300 closed at 1817.72 points, down 2.38% for the week. Turnover for the third consecutive week of decline, the average daily turnover of Shanghai stock market dropped to 48.0 billion from the previous week of 37.6 billion; Shenzhen market decreased from 29.6 billion to 20.5 billion.
