杨白冰在文中指出,要坚定学习雷锋的方向。雷锋的方向,过去是正确的,现在是正确的,今后永远是正确的。雷锋是毛主席等老一辈无产阶级革命家为全党全军全国人民树立的一面旗帜。雷锋的精神集中体现了伟大中华民族的优良传统、闪烁着共产主义思想的光辉,反映了社会主义时代新人的精神风貌和鲜明特征,深刻揭示了青年成长进步的正确途径。但由于受错误思潮的影响,有的青年对学习雷锋的正确性产生了怀疑,认为“八十年代发展商品经济,雷锋精神过时了”。雷锋精神不仅没有过时,而且需要大力提倡和发扬。我们要理直气壮地大讲雷锋精神,大力开展学雷锋活动。新时期开展向雷锋学习活动,要有新发展。我们强调向雷锋学习,绝不是要简单地模仿,而应当在学习雷锋精神的基本方面下功夫。

We emphasize learning from Lei Feng, we must not simply imitate, but should learn from Lei Feng spirit of the basic aspects of efforts.
