In many applications, it is desirable to reduce the side lobe level of the reflective surface antenna in a particular direction. A simple way to achieve this reduction is to add ancillary reflective surfaces within or to the surface of the primary reflector. In this paper, the design curves of the size of the auxiliary reflector and the feed taper and F / D are given to reduce the side lobe to the specified value. Typically, the auxiliary reflector has a diameter of about one-third (10% of the area) of the diameter of the primary reflector for a 10 dB side lobe reduction.
