1993年12月,长治市博物馆在市东郊长淮机械二厂住宅楼工地,发掘清理了一座唐代墓葬(编号M1)。现将发掘情况简报如下。一墓葬形制单室砖墓,墓室底部距地表约3.6米,方向北偏东5°,由墓道、墓门与墓室组成。墓室顶部坍塌,墓道未清理。墓门位于墓室南部,券顶,高1.4、宽0.8、进深0.6米,用条砖封闭。墓室平面近方形,四壁略外弧,原为穹隆顶,残高1.74、东西宽3.1、南北长3.08米。墓壁砌法为三顺一丁,砌成五组,其上错缝平砌,逐层内收。墓室底部错缝平铺地砖一层(图一)。
