跪拜礼是国人沿习已久的一种礼节。“伸腰及股而势危者为跪,因跪而益至其恭。以头着地为拜。”它本是原始社会中人们互相致意的姿势,阶级社会后逐渐演变并日趋复杂、规范化。辛亥革命后,跪拜礼被正式从法令中取消,但现实生活中,在对某些偶像、亡灵礼拜时仍不时使用。
